Minister for Handlooms and Textiles K. Taraka Rama Rao said that the government has decided to provide Bathukamma sarees to all sections of women to provide employment to powerloom weavers of Sircilla textile town.
The Minister participated in the distribution of Bathukamma sarees in Mustabad mandal headquarters on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that due to time constraints, Sircilla weavers could not weave all the sarees and hence some had to be procured from Surat, he said. From the next year, the government will ensure that all the Bathukamma sarees are loomed only in Sircilla so that weavers can get employment round the year.
