The cloth was prepared at Karnati Yadagiri powerloom unit and would be extended to the organisers free of cost.

Nalgonda: Nearly 10 weavers at Nalgonda prepared 75-foot-long cotton cloth for Khairatabad Ganesh idol in a week. The cloth would be wrapped around the shoulders of Khairatabad Ganesh idol during Ganesh Navratri celebrations.

The cloth was prepared at Karnati Yadagiri powerloom unit and would be extended to the organisers free of cost. They have been extending to the Utsav Committee of Khairatabad Ganesh pandal for the last five years.

The preparation of the cloth for this Ganesh Chaturthi has been completed, and said that it would reach Khairatabad after performing puja at Panchamukhi Hanuman temple at Nalgonda.

They believe preparation of the cloth is auspicious and will keep away bad habits during the days. The cloth was prepared with designs of Shivalingams, trishul, kalash and Ganesh on the borders. It would be adorned on Khairatabad Ganesh idol during the nine-day celebrations.

Speaking to Tabloid Today, Karnati Yadagiri informed that they were planning to present the cloth to the utsav committee via Minister for IT K Taraka Rama Rao on the day of Vinayaka Chavithi. “The opportunity for preparing the cloth for famous Khairatabad Ganesh is God’s gift, as far as we’re concerned. We have used pure cotton in preparation of the cloth,” he adds. He also says that they spent nearly Rs 30,000 for the preparation of the cloth that excludes labour cost.
