Government trying to exempt handloom from GST

Guntur: MP Nimmala Kistappa said that the State government was trying to get exemption for handloom sector from the GST and they had already submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley.

Speaking to reporters in Mangalagiri town on Monday, he said the YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy assured seats to the Boyas in Anantapur, Kurumalas in Hindupur and weavers in Dharmavaram but he failed to keep up his promise. But he was criticising the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

He said during YSR regime, over 1000 weavers died due to hungry. He felt that it was not correct on the part of Jagan Mohan Reddy to personally criticise the Chief Minister. He said thGSTat Jagan failed as the Leader of the Opposition.

Earlier, the MP went to Mangalagiri municipal chairman Ganji Chirajeevi’s house. Later, he met the weavers and greeted them on the occasion of National Handlooms Day.

Meanwhile, PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy who interacted with weavers in Bhargavapet in Mangalagiri town and greeted them.
